Our Environmental Charter
Dear Guests,
We are delighted to welcome you to our guest house. Since opening our doors, we have placed environmental responsibility at the heart of everything we do. For ourselves, for you and for future generations, we are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our activities while offering you a comfortable and authentic stay.
WE ARE COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABILITY AND WE ENCOURAGE OUR GUESTS TO DO THE SAME
We have completed dedicated training on sustainable tourism, environmental protection and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Our team is trained in eco-friendly practices for everyday operations.
We carefully select suppliers and service providers based on their environmental and social commitments.
We provide our guests with information, brochures and guides about the local wildlife and plant life.
We encourage low-impact travel by offering bicycle rental information, public transport options and nearby hiking routes.
WE SAVE WATER AND ENERGY
Our showers are equipped with AirPower water-saving systems to help reduce water consumption.
We monitor our water and electricity usage every month to better manage our consumption.
Our garden is irrigated using a drip irrigation system. Watering takes place every other morning and is limited to our potted plants, which have been selected for their low water requirements.
Our toilets are fitted with dual-flush systems to reduce drinking water consumption.
We are progressively replacing all light bulbs with LED or low-energy lighting, and more than 75% of our lighting has already been upgraded.
All outdoor lighting uses LED technology, providing the same level of comfort while reducing energy consumption.
Motion sensors and timers have been installed in outdoor areas to prevent unnecessary energy use.
WE REDUCE AND SORT OUR WASTE
A recycling station is available in the breakfast room.
We sort all waste, including food waste, which is recycled through our composting system.
We mainly use bulk-sized products to reduce unnecessary packaging.
Our guest amenities are provided exclusively in refillable dispensers or large containers to minimise packaging waste.
Clear signage helps our guests sort their waste in accordance with local recycling regulations.
We do not use disposable tableware and provide reusable crockery and glassware in the breakfast room.
WE CARE ABOUT OUR GUESTS’ WELL-BEING
In our breakfast room, you’ll find regional products sourced directly from local producers or homemade specialties, including jams, Bredele biscuits, local beer and handcrafted ceramics.
Every Thursday, a local market takes place just a short walk from our guest house.
Guests can personalise their breakfast (with or without cold meats, butter or cheese). We favour local and homemade products and can accommodate certain dietary requirements, including gluten-free options.
Our breakfast menu includes organic and/or locally sourced products.
For your well-being and ours, we have eliminated bleach from our cleaning products, as it is harmful to respiratory health and aquatic life.
Our guest house is entirely non-smoking.
We have selected hypoallergenic bed linen to ensure your comfort.
AND THERE’S MORE
Our gardens are maintained without pesticides, using environmentally friendly alternatives to control weeds and insects.
Much of our furniture has been sourced from local reuse and recycling centres.
Every year, we commit to new sustainability initiatives to continuously improve our environmental approach. We are always happy to hear your suggestions and ideas.
Thank you for supporting our environmental commitment during your stay.
